Working with Climate Emergency UK

About us

Climate Emergency UK’s focus is currently on creating a database of UK Local Authority climate & ecological emergency declarations and action plans in collaboration with MySociety, to help interested parties quickly identify best practice. We are also bringing together resources local authorities can use to deliver on their commitments, including a checklist of what makes a good action plan.

Creating a UK wide movement requires strong networks. We support this by holding seminars and Conferences that connect people and organisations interested in local authority climate emergency response.

We work with Councillors and officers across the political spectrum, as well as individual activists, XR and NGO’s including Friends of the Earth, Centre for Alternative Technology, Ashden, My Society. We liaise closely with Cedamia who started the global climate emergency declaration movement in Australia.

Working Patterns and hours

You will need to be available to help with Monday seminars from 12pm-3pm and additional calls with collaborators throughout the week generally totalling 2 hours per week. We are flexible when other hours are done.

Hours: 15-20 per week approx. for 6 months.

Compensation is on a freelance basis with a rate of £10/hour

You will managed & mentored by Cllr Kevin Frea, founder director of Climate Emergency UK
