Perth and Kinross councillors have agreed to take steps in a bid to help save the planet.

Councillors were asked to consider the measure in a motion put forward by SNP councillor Richard Watters and seconded by SNP councillor Fiona Sarwar at a full council meeting last week.

Cllr Watters urged his fellow elected members to “lead by example” in their response to the declared climate emergency.

The Kinross-shire councillor asked the chamber to work with their local communities to produce a “strategic delivery plan”.
