Dan joined CSE in 2015. He has 14 years' experience in planning, predominantly in local authorities. He previously worked for developers Wind Prospect and for Bath & North East Somerset Council, where as Principal Planner he was responsible for most renewable energy planning applications in the local authority area, including negotiating and consenting the first two commercial scale solar farms, and contributing to the development of planning policies on energy in the district. Dan has an excellent understanding of the barriers community groups face when developing energy generation projects, including planning, landscape issues and landowner agreements. Dan has a BSc in Global Futures (Sustainability) and Geography from Bath Spa University College and an MSc in Town and Country Planning from the University of the West of England.
